Qiushi Design Camp is a design community founded in December 2009 by me and my three college friends. It aims to become a communication and interaction platform for all enthusiastic designers. There’s an offical website and a blog online, as well as lots of offline workshops. After two years’ development, we have 5000+ members and an increasing social impact among China’s young designers.
The Design Camp has held several offline workshops successfully. We invited specialists from the design industry to give talks on diverse topics and share their experiences with young designers.
An account has been opened on Weibo (Chinese Twitter) to share inspirations. We’re really impressed by the power of social media. Now we have over 486 thousand followers.
Our blog posts include design projects, design article translations, design tutorials, design activities and so on. A lot of members share their own knowledge about design on the blog. We also have columns for selected topics.
This column mainly focuses on the student life abroad and school application tips. Our members are all over the world.
We recommend a design book every month and encourage our designers to write reviews on design books they’ve read and new knowledge they’ve learned.
This column provides tutorials of making things, and shares recent works from our members.
We post information about ongoing and upcoming design exhibitions. Our members also share their photos and experiences from design exhibitions.
